1. We perform an initial Temperament Test and assessment of the dog. Passing this testing does not guarantee that the dog will be able to be a Service Dog, but it can help rule out dogs that will not be good candidates, as well as showing which areas a given dog may need more work on during the training process.
2. Service Dogs begin learning a more rigorous version of basic obedience program combined with skills that will be needed in their role.
Advanced skills and public access work follows, then training for specific tasks that the owner will need. The owner also will have lessons in how to work with the dog and develop into a solid team.
